HAVE A WINTER SNIFFLE CO.
We love it when musos step out of their genre and create something truly covetable, particularly a wearable object d’art that reflects the aesthetic of their band. Take, for example, The Grates, an Aussie indie-pop lot who infuse their sound and album art with a slightly lysergic kistchness. The band’s lead guitarist, John Patterson, proudly presents Sniffle Co, a range of brooches that are both humorous and fashion savvy. Think new cartoon icecreams, bowling pins, tombstones and… yes, Ventolin inhalers. Made from glossed pine wood, these whimsical additions retail for approximately $44 and are available from Ruck Rover General Store in Mt Lawley, Remedy in Fremantle or William Topp in Northbridge. www.sniffleco.com

SHOP ‘TIL YOU DROP
Perth has suddenly become the shopping destination with a whole plethora of shops and shopping precincts opening in our CBD, with a whole lot more rumoured to be coming soon. Biggest hit to open last month was Burberry. This store is sublime. It has a load of different areas, catering to men, women and children. There are bags galore, plus plenty of shoes, all done in signature Burberry style. Next door and you’ll find Armani Exchange. A little darker in its interior, this store is all about affordable luxury. Not as well laid out as its neighbour, it still delivers a succinct style that caters to the more discerning shopper. Over on Hay Street, linking to St Georges Terrace, is the new Enex 100 mall and oh… my… god do they have some shops. At the top of the list are Jack London, which is the epitome of street styled sophistication (finally – Jack London!). Add Calibre, Calvin Klein Jeans, Lisa Ho and a whole load of other stores and you know where your next shopping destination is! Still on the rumour list? Chanel and Versace. But you didn’t hear that from me. www.burberry.com www.enex100.com.au
