Pascale Amberville-Colby – Pride Commitee 2007

Pascale Amberville-ColbyThis year we are looking forward to laying down the foundation stones for reunification within the GLBT community. Fifteen years ago the community was united and groups within the community supported each other. Since then the community has become fragmented, which is why so many GLBT businesses and community groups have fallen by the wayside. Our vision is for Pride to help to stabilise the community and seek ways in which we can help each other. We would like to promote Pride as community driven force as we are more than simply dance party convenors.

I have a background in public relations, marketing, and media. In my PR roles I have specialised in damage control and crisis management. I’ve also been involved in public events management tasks as well.

I feel privileged to be serving with such an enthusiastic and driven committee. This year there are three returning committee members, Dean Cahill, Tanya Croft and myself as well as six new and enthusiastic committee members. We will be a very budget conscious committee as we’ll be looking to achieve a profit as the 2006 committee did. Last year we were able to deliver quality events despite budget cut backs and in 2007 we will continue to deliver quality events.

We are very community driven this year; we’re taking a more serious edge and will be pushing that all the way through.
