Senator Louise PrattSenator Louise Pratt has retained a spot on Labor’s Senate ticket.

Following a vote at the WA Labor Executive meeting this evening Senator Pratt was voted into the second spot, moving down from the first place she previously held.

In place of Pratt, the party voted in Unionist Joe Bullock leader of the right wing Shop Worker’s Union.

It was feared that Senator Pratt would miss out on a spot all together as several challengers put forward nominations.

Speaking to OUTinPerth following the vote Senator Pratt said she was humble and honoured to represent the party. In her speech to delegates Senator Pratt highlighted her parliamentary record noting her work on fighting the exploitation of people on 457 visas, fighting for the rights of independent midwives and her work on marriage equality.

Union Leader Joe Bullock could be seen as a polar opposite of Senator Pratt. Hailing from the parties right faction Mr Bullock is a conservative voice within the party and in 2011 strongly argued against the party changing its position on same sex marriage.
