Film Review: Wrath of the Titans

(PG) Directed by Jonathan Liebesman

There’s lots of gods fighting for supremacy in this film and all of them seem to have huge anger issues with their closest relatives. Brothers Zeus (Liam Neeson) and Hades (Ralph Fiennes) bring sibling rivalry to new heights and there is no love lost on their father either. One of Zeus’s sons, Ares (Edgar Ramirez), wants him dead whilst another son Perseus (Sam Worthington who adds some much-needed Australian down to earth humour) wants nothing to do with the squabbles of the deities. Perseus is half-human and wants to live quietly with his 10 year-old son Helios (John Bell), but he is forced to join forces with another half-human Agenor (Toby Kebbell) and Andromeda (Rosamund Pike) to rescue Zeus from the Underworld. What results is a complete assault on the senses as 3D terror is unleased, everything that can be blown up – is, and both gods and people die in spectacular ways.
