Identity and environment meet in a gloriously stunning collection of oil paintings by Iraqi artist and graphic designer Haider Altaey. Water, land and air overlap in a dazzling wash of blues, greens and ochre. The concepts of adapting to new environments, the presence of an ego and identity issues are all explored within this new series, which reflects in parts Altaey’s immigration to Western Australia back in 1994. This exciting collection of work is being exhibited at Kulcha, Fremantle until March 31. www.kulcha.com.au
