Murmph Blurgh Cottonmouth

Get ready to spit diction – the Perth poetry scene is all set to explode as an ambitious group of young writers – including myself – let loose with new project Cottonmouth. The premise behind Cottonmouth is that it is a showcase for local and national writers, poets, script-smiths, storytellers and even satirists. This monthly spoken word night will have a regular format of two featured readers, two featured sound artists, as well six shorter feature spots, the evening ending with an open mic session. Cottonmouth will also produce a monthly ‘zine and podcast. Hosted by the incorrigible Tomás Ford, Cottonmouth launches on February 7 at Rosemount 459 on the corner of Angove and Fitzgerald. The night starts at 8pm and will feature Vivienne Glance, Allan Boyd and Rebecca Giggs with many more being confirmed. www.cottonmouth.org.au
